well, at least for today :) so, the VID's made it to Guatemala City and we were re-submitted for our girls' new BC's. Civil Registry said they will be ready on friday at 3pm. So, one step down and a few more to go! Praise God, this is good news!
i also took the girls to get their Visa photos taken today -- crazy! So, we get the first baby on the stool in front of the white backdrop and I'm jumping up and down behind the photographer who just keeps saying "hola, hola, hola" over and over again to try and get her to smile. He had taken two shots when he told me that they are not allowed to have anything in their hair (ie: her hairband). Ok... so i take it out, and not kidding her hair is not standing straight up. The photographer points to a little sink where I can get water. So, i'm using the water to try and slick her hair back and I feel like she's looking like a drowned rat, but oh well. He snaps away and we're on to baby #2. I do the same with her hair. Now, this child has no problem smiling, but he motions to me that she's smiling too big (go figure). So, after a few shots, i remember that a few of my fellow fostering moms have told me that girls are not allowed to have earrings in for the Visa pics. So, i motion to him the earrings and he affirms that they have to come out -- grrr. I have only done this once since they got them pierced, but I try. i can only get one of "Squeaks" earrings out, and "Smiles" only has one earring in (long story). So, then he proceeds to tell me (mind you this entire story is in Spanish, of course :) that it's fine to leave the earrings in, he'll just get rid of them on the computer. So, both of my girls will have wet, slicked hair and one earing in. The best part is that on a website i cked tonight, it said that digitally altered photos would not be accepted! Makes me laugh out loud :)
Oh my, this was really so much easier when I watched my friend have her little boy's photo taken :) they will be ready tomorrow at noon, so I'll try to post them on my next blog!
